God is good. He is our loving father, and we can always trust that he means us well. Sometimes, our path may take us through fiery trials, but he’s got a plan and will be right there with us in the midst of it.

My family and I are Norwegian nationals. A few years ago, we made an international move from Norway to the UK. My husband had been offered a job in Britain after several months of unemployment in Norway. We packed up our things and moved with three children under six, one of them a four-week-old baby. Two weeks into his new role, my husband was told they would not be keeping him on.

So, here we were, in a new country, having spent a significant amount of money relocating, and now my husband was unemployed again. I didn’t understand why God let that happen. But within a week, my husband was offered a position with another company and is in a far better place in his career than we’d ever imagined. I believe that that first job was just the vehicle God used to bring us to this country and the church and friendship, and homeschooling community we now have. God’s plan was at work, although we couldn’t see it at the time.

God is good.

Holt's story is written with a well-loved trope but flavored with big themes. I enjoyed escaping to Europe and Africa, getting to know a couple that had every reason to not fall in love, but walk with them while they did.

Lovely, well-written story.

I love history and enjoy going to places that have historical significance. And I also love warm weather and beautiful scenery. My dream vacation would be a place that combines all three!
