Kintsugi is a Japanese pottery repair method which glues back together broken pottery and paints the seams with gold, resulting in a stunning piece of artwork.

This is a beautiful illustration of what God does for us when we go through those difficult places in our life. When we feel broken, spit-out, undone.

In Psalm 34:18 it says, “the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” When we come and offer the broken pieces of our life to him, He draws close and does his redeeming work in our lives. He won’t leave us in the same condition we came with. Even though afterwards we still may see and feel the effects of what we have been through, God redeems the pain in such a way that we are more beautiful afterwards than before.

Having experienced for myself His repair work in my life, I want others to experience it, too. In the stories I write, this is the picture I want to paint – the beaty of his redemption, restoration, and hope.

When I’m not writing, I work outside the home as a Chiropractor’s Assistant. Some of my favorite things are sunrises and sunsets, the ocean, hanging out with friends, a good laugh, and reading.
