Over and over, I see people searching for love. Sometimes this search leads them into relationships that are painful, but other times they still end up feeling like there’s something missing. The love of God, however, is perfect and unfailing. We have a hard time understand God’s unconditional love. We cannot grasp the breadth or depth of it. We cannot earn His love, and we don’t have to. God loves us because He is love.

Over and over, I see people searching for love. Sometimes this search leads them into relationships that are painful, but other times they still end up feeling like there’s something missing. The love of God, however, is perfect and unfailing. We have a hard time understand God’s unconditional love. We cannot grasp the breadth or depth of it. We cannot earn His love, and we don’t have to. God loves us because He is love.

After my husband passed away suddenly right before Christmas in 2020, I didn’t know if I could go on without his love. We’d been married for over 30 years. God wrapped me in His love and carried me through those dark days. In time, I could see how God was still the good God he was before David died. He still had plans for my life, and He still continued to pour blessings on me. My three adult children, my doodle Honey Bea, my church family, and my home in Iowa all topped the list.

I want my stories to reflect imperfect people finding joy in the love of a perfect God, and I love to tell those stories with a generous dash of humor.
